RAWALPINDI: At least four people lost their lives and several injured in a blast near Imambargah in Ralwapindi, ARY News reported Friday. According to eye witnesses, more casualties are feared as the explosion was so powerful as it destroyed the surrounding shops and vehicles at the spot. Police said Mehfil-e-Milaad was under way at the Imambargah when the blast took place. More than hundred persons including women and children were present in a Milaad. Police and rescue teams were rushed to the site. The explosion took place near an Imambargah in Chattiya Battiya, a residential neighbourhood of Rawalpindi. Talking to ARY News, Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed said at least five persons had been killed in the blast. He said the explosion was a suicide attack and the attacker failed to enter the premises of Imambargah, hence he exploded himself. The locals started the rescue work and started shifting the injured to nearby hospital. More to follow
