RE: Brat, this past week for your organization, OVERSEAS BRATS (OSB) 7/11/14. Hi Brat Friend! BRAT HERO: TD Jorgensen (Frankfurt ES-Nurnberg JHS-Nurnberg HS) is definitely a Brat hero. Back in 1987 when he was planning his first Nurnberg reunion, TD saw an opportunity. He realized that OSB was offering him a number of opportunities, and even though he didn’t know any of those people, TD joined and got involved. TD’s involvement means that his Nurnberg Alumni Association has been a corporate member of OSB for more than 20 years, and he has introduced to OSB a number of Nurnberg Eagles who now play some role with OSB including a member of the Brat Volunteer Directors (BVD)s. TD is one of the friendliest Brats you’ll ever meet. His ready smile, engaging personality, and his sincere desire to help others have made for him many wonderful Brat friendships through the years. BRAT INSIGHT: With OSB, there is no such thing as a ‘weekend.’ Everyday there is something to do – work on OSB publications or events or myriad of hundreds of other things that are related to serving the Brat and Educator communities. The problem was when the computer geeks were repairing my system, they wiped away the labels program I was using (and a few other things!), and that only got reinstalled last week. *Just after 2 a.m. on Wednesday, a lightning bolt struck the building I live in. The only ‘casualty’ was my telephone/FAX machine. Back in operation now! *The August 2014 edition of OVERSEAS BRATS (OSB) magazine is now being printed and being prepared for mailing! At this time: Colorado Springs regional event on Sunday, August 17 has: -15 registered representing 35 schools/bases/communities. -218 Brats & Educators are interested. “Brats Oktoberfest” (the annual OSB gathering) happening in New Braunfels, October 2-5 shows: -87 registered representing 123 schools/bases/communities! -1,706 Brats & Educators are interested! -In the 28 year history of OSB, we’ve never seen this many registrations nor this kind of interest three months in advance of an annual ‘gathering!’ Homecoming 2016, in Colorado Springs, August 4-7, 2010 -A dozen alumni groups have shown interest in reunioning at Homecoming 2016! ******** Have a terrific day & weekend!
