RE-HOMING OUR LIBBY I have probably never wrote a more - TopicsExpress

RE-HOMING OUR LIBBY I have probably never wrote a more difficult post. We have began the process in re-homing our girl Libby. If you really know us, then you know how difficult this decision has been for us. I have never had to re-home one of our beloved animals so this process has not come easy. Due to the situation this is the best decision not only for the humans but for Libby. Libby is a gorgeous Shep X rescue from Northern Alberta. We adopted Libby when she was just under 3 months old. We have had Libby spayed and all vaccinations are up to date. She is an active girl. Loves walks, playing ball, chase & loves her chewies. She is very loving and loyal to us, especially me. Crate trained but can also be left in a home without supervision. She is a smart girl. Has commands down. Loves treat based games. Knows she can give that puppy look and melt you. WHY ARE WE RE-HOMING? Libby is an insecure girl. Which can be natural at her age but her impulse control when it involves certain triggers is not the best. It is best for Libby to be in a home where she is the only dog. That being said; if there is a second dog in the home the person should be aware of reactive dogs and how to deal with them. Libby has several furry buddies that she is bonded to, but its that reactive side that people need to be full aware of and ready to deal with. No cats as Libby sees those as definite prey. If our home was a normal home we would keep Libby and her issues without a doubt. However; we are not. My business is ran directly out of my home and we have been entrusted with other peoples pets, we have two children in the house and three cats. It isnt fair for Libby to have to be separated like she is or to be muzzled at all time. We have worked very hard with a variety of training options with Libby for this reactive issue to make sure all avenues were exhausted prior to this decision. WHY YOUR HOME? Gorgeous 1 year old Libby will be your bestfriend. She will offer kisses and hugs whenever you wish. She will always be happy to see you. She will get you out there in that fresh air for walks. You get her her full setup, kennel, food, etc. Also on the day of rehoming a trainer has graciously offered to come to the new home on that day to walk through any questions with Libby. As well I will offer petsitting/boarding for Libby any time the owners are away. If you think Libby would be a great addition to your life or know of someone please pass this on. We are more than open to do a home visit and trial as she is very close to my heart I want to make sure she goes to a good home.
