READ AND COMMENT: Christians Urged to invest in God’s Vineyard - As ICIC Raises Fund For National Secretariate The think home policy of uniting the entire Igbo ministers by the founder of the International Centre of Igbo Clergymen (ICIC), Apostle (Dr) Jeff Onyeamalu, has no doubt given succour to the Igbo clergy here in Nigeria and in the Diaspora. This ambition to bring the men of God together has got a boost with the launching of the ICIC almanac and fund raising for the building of the National Secretariat held at Chrispan Hotel, Abagana, in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State. In his message to the ministers from the South-East zone and other guests in attendance entitled, “Divine Investment, the ICIC founder, Apostle Jeff Onyeamalu, enjoined Christians to cultivate the habit of investing spiritually in the temple of God. In the message taken from 1st Chronicle 21:22-25, the man of God posited that some ministers of God go begging because they refuse to lay spiritual foundation. “Men of God suppose to be givers and not beggars but some people are yet to understand the secrete of investing spiritually. You ought to appear better than you are after the divine investment. We have also discovered that finance is the major challenge of ministers in Igbo land which he attributed to greed and argrice adding that it happens because some ministers have no masters and any minister who have no master is a bastard”. Apostle Jeff further explained that the brain behind the formation of ICIC in 2009 is to unite the entire Igbo clergy which according to him aims at exchanging ideas, build faith and unity of purpose among the Igbo clergies both at home and abroad. “We discovered that so many ministers in Nigeria especially in Igbo land has not really gone out to preach the word of God and it is our burning desire that the much burden on the yawning Igbo servants of God should be alleviated to enable them work to full capacity. “Recently, we took to some ministers to Ivory Coast and Ghana were they went to exchange ideas and interact with ministers in other countries to help them grow fast in their ministerial work. Such exposure will definitely change their message, preaching and orientation about the work of God”. He concluded by adding that the aim of ICIC is not only to unite Igbo ministers but also to restore basic dignity and integrity by providing basic education, meaningful projects, poverty alleviation programmes, health schemes, peace, unity and progress sustainability including soliciting for financial support for individual ministerial growth and expansion of churches owed by its members. The Chairman of the occasion Hon Vincent Okafor who is also the Anambra State Deputy Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in an interview described the fund raising ceremony as a way of sewing seed for the work of God to thrive and permit in the hearts of the faithful. Hon Okafor shared a testimony of how he sewed a seed with the only car he had just for a name before God catapulted him, therefore called on Christians to adhere to the preaching of Apostle Jeff on divine investment adding that, “we are all children of God and when the occasion arises for the support of the work of God, let us come out and do so because God rewards people who cultivates in his vineyard. Anybody that wants to go far in life should not play with sewing of seed”. The National Chairman of the ICIC, Hon (Apostle) Daniel Chukwudi Daniel did not mince words when he poured encomium to the International President of the organisation, Apostle Jeff for the level of exposure the ministers have so far gotten since its formation describing Apostle Jeff as a charismatic and humble servant of God.
