READER QUESTION We are trying to find a way to discipline my 2 year old. She rarely has any kind of behavior issue and she doesnt have a huge amount of rules. But when we do try to talk to her about something or discipline her, she just doesnt seem to GET it. Time ins have no effect, since the root of her occasional behavior issues arent usually emotional because all of her emotional needs are met before then. Any attempt to admonish her is met with hurt feelings but no understanding of what we are trying to teach her. For example all day long she is saying Mama mama mama mama mama... For no reason, just habit. We keep trying to quell this but she doesnt seem to get any of our attempts to get through to her about stopping. My husband and I do not hit and raise our voices occasionally to try to get her attention when she is not acknowledging us (but do not yell). Im just looking for suggestions, because certain behaviors need to stop, occasional or not. Please and thanks!
