RECONGNIZING ALLAHs FAVORS When you ask some people how they achieved all that they have achieved in life, they will say HARD WORK!!! They forget Allah (SWT) completely and, instead, they say it is hard work that has earned them all that they have achieved. That is not how a Muslim should live. A Muslim should always acknowledge the favors of Allah upon him. He should remind himself everyday of the fact that all that he has, including wealth, children, position, and status, are from Allah (SWT) and they are all going back to Him. He should always bear in mind that he will give account of everything he earned and owned before Allah. He will even give account of things he lost- how he lost them, and how he behaved when he lost them. So, you can see now that this life is not worth living for. It should rather be seen as a cultivating ground where one sows. While the Hereafter is the place to reap and savour ones harvest which Allah (SWT) describes as better and more lasting. (Surah al-Ala (87):17).
