RED CROSS JOB POSTING- Service to Armed Forces - See link for application and job description below. (I do not know the salary) This position will report to the Regional Director (me) and must be able to relocate in 3-5 years. Assistant Station Manager Area of Interest: Service to the Armed Forces Job Description: • The Assistant Station Manager assists in the delivery of American Red Cross services to members of the United States military, their families and veterans. • Provides supervision to assigned volunteers. • Represents the organization with military commands and adheres to military regulations and authority when applicable. • Works effectively with other Red Cross offices. • Initial work location is Baltimore, MD. This is a mobile position which means the position is subject to deployment and permanent change of station in the future. RESPONSIBILITIES • Represents the American Red Cross and promotes its programs and services by ensuring effective working relationships with the military community. • Assists in the supervision of volunteer staff and management of all related human resource functions including recruitment, training, utilization, evaluation and recognition in accordance with ARC policies and procedures; helps ensure volunteer staff ratio reflects the diversity of the population being served. • Performs financial and administrative functions as required in accordance with policies and procedures of American Red Cross. • Assists in the coordination of service to military and VA/Veteran’s treatment facilities through rehabilitation programs, material assistance, and morale items and support. • Provides community outreach - to include command meetings, education briefings, and liaising with the local region. • Provides emergency communications services between military personnel and their families – including information and referral; and other related services. • Supports the delivery of health and safety services training, disaster preparedness and response training, and blood services. • Supports local training exercises on installations and participates on a regular basis in individual training preparedness exercises; may accompany the military on deployments periodically. QUALIFICATIONS • Worldwide mobility is a condition of employment and an essential function of this position. • Must accept work assignments anywhere in the world, including conflict areas, where the American Red Cross is providing services to members of the military and their families. • Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, human resources management, community organization, social or health sciences, or related field; or relevant equivalent experience is required. • A minimum of three years related experience is required. • Strong computer skills are required. • Public speaking skills and the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing are required. • Successful candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in an individual or team environment. • The ability to balance multiple priorities is essential. • Must meet strict medical and physical requirements, including immunizations required by the U.S. military; and be able to obtain a secret security clearance and a no-fee U.S. passport. • U.S. citizenship is required. • May be required to wear military uniforms, and live and work in harsh and stressful environment in conflict areas. • Familiarity with military culture, regulations and protocol is strongly desired. • Experience with American Red Cross programs and services are desired.
