The very hot and unstable conditions combined with moderately low humidities will bring the potential for large plume dominated fire growth over the local mountains and adjacent foothills if fire ignition occurs. Poor humidity recoveries and warm temperatures at night will add to the fire danger across the mountains and adjacent foothills. Weak sundowner winds with gusts in the 20 to 30 mph range will add to the fire danger across the santa barbara county mountains and adjacent foothills during the nighttime hours through tuesday night. ...Red flag warning in effect until 9 pm tuesday for the santa barbara county mountains and adjacent foothills due to very hot and unstable conditions with moderately low humidities... * Temperatures...Highs generally between 95 and 105 degrees. Overnight lows in the 70s to around 80 across lower elevations. * Relative humidity...Minimum humidity 15 to 25 percent today. Slightly higher tuesday. Poor overnight recoveries in the mountains and adjacent foothills. * Winds...Northwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph through passes and canyons of the santa ynez range and adjacent foothills each night through tuesday. Upslope/upvalley winds 6- 12 mph with gusts to 20 mph during daytime hours. * Fire behavior...Any fire ignition will have the potential for large plume dominated growth over the mountains due to hot temperatures...Low humidities...Instability...And extremely dry fuels. * Impacts...If fire ignition occurs...There could be rapid spread of wildfire that would lead to a threat to life and property. A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are expected. This in combination with very dry fuels could create extreme fire danger and/or fire behavior. Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in the field of this red flag warning.
