RED Group Weekly News: Excitement is building this week as we are approaching our first meet of the season. This week we will continue our focus on stroke technique working towards smooth perfect strokes with efficient fast kicking. I am looking forward to seeing everyone swim their very best fast swims. The NCISC Conference Meet will give us baseline times which will help us see both our strengths and weaknesses in each stroke and help us reflect on the goals that each athlete has set. A big congratulation goes out to Annika Smith who earned the coveted Rubber Ducky last week! All athletes will be bringing home their own personal binder I created which includes Time Standards, Goal Sheets, A or F Day Results, and any other pertinent information that may need to be included at a later date. Please encourage your children to share these with you and keep them somewhere where they won’t lose them, can be easily referred to, and hopefully kept dry. If you have any questions regarding the results or remarks section please don’t hesitate to speak with me. All athletes need to bring these to practice every Monday! In case your child has not told you about A or F day here is a brief outline. I and my Assistant Coach will be assessing and grading the athletes’ strokes minimally twice a month. The grading will be based on the stroke techniques that we have practiced and spent a great deal of time working, improving and perfecting. We are hoping that everyone will make attendance a priority so they do not miss these invaluable results which will help make the swimmer conscious of their stroke technique and take charge of their own accountability. Some of you missed the deadline to sign up for the NCISC Conference Meet so here is a quick reminder to save the date for the PAC Sharkfest November 15 and 16.
