REFLECTION - This time last year I was trusting God for $1700 to make a way for me to go to Haiti on a missions trip and He did! I wasn’t working at the time and my friends, family, previous co-workers, associates and people I didn’t even know were sending me donations so that I could go and make a difference. My team consisted of 3 other people; 2 of them I met during the pre-missions trip meetings and 1 I met at a restaurant witnessing to one another. All of us from different backgrounds, but joined together as one power force in brother and sisterhood in Christ. I had a giant suitcase of items to give away not expecting anything in return. That was the most rewarding trip I have ever been on in my life. I love to travel and vacation, but that mission’s trip did more for me and my spiritual growth than I can put into words. I got up and led a song in front of 300 Haitians at church that didn’t speak English. One of their choirs sang to us; they learned a song and sang ½ the song in English and ½ in Creole and it was awesome. God’s presence was all in the church. It doesn’t matter where we are as long as we are serving the same God; He was definitely in the midst of our devotions and that church service. I shared all of that to say, “All of us can make a difference somehow”! Little things mean a lot and things that we think no one would want are like a pot of gold to those who don’t have anything.
