REFLECTIONS May 5, 2013 Spirit Life Christian Center - Pastor Oscar Calanche It is baffling to hear when some people say that the Lord is a “mysterious God” and that they don’t know what to do. Does Ephesians 1:9 not say “making known to us the mystery of His will”? He makes the mysteries known to us and yet some still run to a prophet so that they can be told who they are! How do you open up such mysteries? There must be hunger and thirst for the Lord; furthermore, speak the revelatory words, “Lord, let it be known the mystery of Your will” so that when the prophet of God comes and prophesies over you, it will be confirmation or reminder of what has already been revealed to you! Do NOT rely on the prophets to unlock the mysteries for you. You won’t really fulfill God’s plan for your life until you hear it from God yourself. So why do some lack peace in their hearts? Is knowing the mysteries of God’s will not supposed to give you peace? It must not be from the Lord then… correct? Not necessarily. Even Jesus at one time could not find peace despite following God’s will. (Luke 22:42) "Father, if you are willing, please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine." (Matthew 26:36-39) Also reminds us how Jesus stated once again, it was God’s will, not his. If no matter the circumstance or the prayer, you cannot feel peace then it might require a deep examination of your heart. That may be a lot tougher than just saying it but it is necessary to know if you haven’t made Him the center of your heart; that perhaps you may be sitting on His throne. Is it not peace we all desire in some form? God takes away all excuses because He has immeasurable power; He has enough for everyone and is above all rule and authority. (Ephesians 1:21) Think about this. If you are feeling overwhelmed, you feel like you have no strength, no authority over your situation, and are powerless against the things coming at you then it is because you are probably doing this…on your own! You don’t have to do this by yourself. You have a choice. Just as you have a choice, so do churches. United we stand, divided we fall. We have heard this more often than not, applied to every aspect of daily life, but it carries more truth than one could ever imagine. When various churches come together and leave out the politics, the religion, and the territorial spirit… it becomes something powerful for the good of the city. Such was the case in a Californian city when churches came together for God’s glory. God was moving in all parts! But… some pastors became self-absorbed and felt they could do this one their own. Reluctantly, God’s movement slowed down and eventually stopped in that particular city when churches began to dismember from the larger body of Christ; however, this would not be the end of unity. God spoke of the youth and how they are not influenced by the politics. The instruction from The Lord is to start with the youth so that future generation pastors will get past the man-made issues and bring unity amongst all churches. If a church is strong and amazing miracles are happening in the church, then is it not still doing work for the Lord? You may have to remind yourself that Jesus performed his miracles in the world! The same place the church should be performing its miracles and healings so that others can be saved. They should not be kept inside the church only! For what? So that it can be said that miracles happen only inside a particular church? So that others can say, “WOW! What an amazing church”? What a dangerous ground to walk on because that particular church could be viewed as taking glory for the miracles instead of God. It would only prove it had no real love for the lost souls out in the world. Testimonies of taking miracles and healings out to the world are rising. A man named Joseph had been victim to witchcraft for many years and suffered with horrible back pain. He had been contemplating suicide four days before God’s Word was brought out to him on the streets. A miracle he was found still alive? Yes! When he was prayed for, his back began to crack as it aligned itself back into place. Healing? Yes! Freedom came to this man as the Word of God was further released onto him. A captive set free because the miracles and healings were taken outside the church walls by a group of evangelists from different churches…from different churches…but from a single body of Christ. ~Scribe~
