RELEASE: #Arlingtonva Prof. Wins NISOD Award --Dahlia Henry-Tett of NOVA Community College among six to win awards. --NOVA-Manassas faculty receive national honors Six faculty members at the Manassas Campus of Northern Virginia Community College were honored by the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) for outstanding contributions to teaching, leadership and learning. The 2013 Excellence Awards were presented during the 35th Annual International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence held in May 2013 in Austin, Texas. The award recipients are Michael Carrington (resides in Bristow), program head for computer science; Patricia Gary (Centreville), assistant dean credit mathematics; Dahlia Henry-Tett (Arlington), program head for health and physical education; Patricia Lazzarino (Manassas), assistant dean mathematics; Nicole Mancini (Gainesville), physical education instructor; and Maryellen Ryan (Ashburn), economics instructor. NISOD is dedicated to the professional development of faculty, administrators and staff and to the continued improvement of teaching and learning with the ultimate goal of student success.
