RELIGIOUS CRISIS LOOMS IN OSUN AS MUSLIM VOWS TO STOP REDEEMER’S UNIVERSITY RESUMPTION. “When we keep silent about evil, when we bury it so deep within us, is not that we are coward or don’t know what to do, is all about peace to reign. There may be time when we are powerless to prevent injustice, but there must never be a time when we fail to take action when we are pushed to the wall.” The issue of redeemer’s University in Ede, the State of Osun will soon be out of control if care is not taken. The struggle to reclaim the Land allocated to the Redeem Christian of God for Redeemer’s University had started for the past four years but all the efforts to claim the land back were all in vain because the Muslim families involved are powerless. Before the coronation of Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal, the Timi of Ede, the matter had been put on hold, sooner after his installation, the matter becomes worsen as he gave the Redeem go ahead on its construction without carrying the Muslim families along. Many crops, houses and properties of Muslims have been destroyed. Last week one house belonging to one Muslim family was also destroyed despite having the certificate of occupancy while the police are not doing anything about the incident. The Muslims Community in Ede and the family involved have now called on all the authority in the State to stop the resumption of Redeemer’s University slated for this month until the matter is resolved. Likewise, the Muslim Community in the State, different Muslim organisations have thrown their weight behind the Muslims in Ede to make sure justice is sustained because when injustice becomes law, resistance becomes duty.
