RELIGIOUS EXTREMISM AND THE CURE I have been depressed since last Wednesday. I was in Kano when the Boko Haram people went on killing rampage in the city, Bombs were thrown like banger and AK 47 guns were used to kill many innocent citizens. Those killing in the name of God will not be rewarded by the true GOD. You can never covert someone by force. Some Christians and Muslims in Nigeria seem to be taking religion to the extreme. A Church guest house collapsed and killed over 115 people yet the Church and their Prophet blamed a plane that flew over the building but remain silent on the illegality of putting three more floors without approval. A private jet to be used for evangelism belonging to a Church is suddenly being leased out to buy arms and ammunition to kill people. Brethren, this not a time to call Boko Haram names and insult the Prophet at Synagogue or Pastor Ayo that owns that private jet. Why do we as a nation show such extremism in religion? Why do we defend our religious leaders even when they are wrong? Why are so indifferent to human lives in this country? Suggest your cure to religious extremism. This is not an invitation to insult anyone, just air your solutions to this cancer in our nation.
