REMINDER: The JUNE 1st deadline for the Cobell Scholarship is quickly approaching... The AIGC Cobell Graduate Scholarships are monetary awards made to American Indian and Alaska Native graduate or professional full-time, degree-seeking students, who meet all eligibility criteria. The scholarship amount is not determined until mid-August and may vary from year to year, depending on the number of qualified applicants, the availability of funds and unmet financial need. In the inaugural year (2014-2015), awards will be based on existing AIGC criteria; however, the Cobell Board of Trustees may develop additional or different criteria in the future. To be considered, applicants must be: • Pursuing a post-baccalaureate graduate or professional degree and BE A full-time student at an accredited institution in the U.S.; • Able to demonstrate financial need through submission of the AIGC Financial Need Form (FNF) and • An enrolled member of a federally recognized American Indian or Alaska Native group, or provide documentation of descent (possess one-fourth degree verifiable federally recognized Indian blood) as verified through submission of a Tribal Eligibility Certificate (TEC). The deadline to apply is June 1, 2014. For additional information about the Cobell Education Scholarship Fund, please visit collegefund.org/Cobell.
