REMOREE ELAYIOK - Fertility Ritual --- Fertility is very high value for the samburu. Childbearing is very important hence lads ( Layiok ) performs one fertility ritual towards a woman thought to be sterile ( Ntomononi olipi ) . They will mould a mud figure that resembles a kid and place in front of the womans house ( Asayi potum nkerai ) . In later appropriate time, a feast will be given in which the husband invites the boys for Remoree ritual and neighbors to eat a slaughtered bull . A little fat is spread over the womans belly by identified boy among the boys ( Layieni eitodokaki sayee murt nia tomononi olipi ) who attended the ceremony and they will say a blessing , may God give you a child thats evening and morning blessings. The song goes .... Lepalai ooh mikinteyiu ooh tankajiang ooh !
