REPENT AND RETURN "Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I - TopicsExpress

REPENT AND RETURN "Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me." (Micah 7:8). The perfect will of God is for the righteous to remain faithful to the end. And it is possible to remain righteous like Enoch, Elijah or Elisha, more so in this dispensation of grace. It is possible for any careless Christian to succumb to temptation and fall. But such a person has a choice as a free moral agent. God does not want any of His children to live a defeated life. Our enemy, the devil, would prefer that we remain in sin, backslidden state, bound in self-pity and self- imposed sense of hopelessness. But the will of God is that we repent and return to Him for restoration because...if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous (I John 2:1). Backsliders must however realise the danger of remaining in sin and return to the Saviour. Believers, young or old, should not to toy or experiment with sin. Our God is merciful, yet He is still a consuming fire. The Lord has promised he will welcome any repentant and sincere sinner. Those who have gone back into sin and are now back into the fold must overcome the shame and stigma, and continue in the race towards Heaven. Challenge: Reclaim your lost ground and glory. Prayer: O Lord, help me to be victorious over sin.
