RESEARCH SHOWS THAT READING COAL REGION CONNECTIONS POSTS CAN ACTUALLY HELP ALLEVIATE SYMPTOMS OF ALZHEIMER’S AND DEPRESSION: Most people wouldn’t think viewing & commenting on the pictures we post here could actually benefit those who battle Alzheimer’s & depression. But, studies & anecdotal evidence show it can really help – especially during the holidays! Allow me to explain… If you’ve ever known somebody with Alzheimer’s, then you’re aware they may have difficulty remembering people, places, or events from their life. It can be particularly difficult & frustrating for both them & you as a loved one… who must suffer as well. However, according to the Alzheimer’s Organization – by simply showing pictures to individuals in both early & late stages of Alzheimer’s – you could help them jog their short-term & long-term memory. Since starting this nostalgia fan page in mid-March 2014, we’ve shared over 360 pictures “of all things coal region” to take you & loved ones on an enjoyable walk down memory lane. Also, in a recent Portsmouth University study – researchers found that looking through old photographs & wall posts on Facebook can lift bad moods & help treat mental problems. With all the negative news in the media today including increased crime, a struggling economy, & high unemployment rates – we keep all of our nostalgic posts positive & uplifting. You can even listen to others’ memories & share your own on our COAL REGION CONNECTIONS—THE RADIO SHOW on AM1410 WLSH Lansford every Saturday morning from 10am-12 noon with live streaming on the internet at wmgh. COULD THIS BE “THE GIFT THAT KEEPS ON GIVING?” Because of the mental health benefits above, we encourage you to tell other friends & family members about this free COAL REGION CONNECTIONS fan page. You never know who could be hurting on the inside, & could use a much-needed “pick-me-up” from the posts & pictures we share. In fact, we receive numerous messages of how the memories & pictures we post bring tears of joy to people’s eyes, & fill their hearts with cheer – despite whatever else they may have going on in their lives. Plus, this page is 1 of the most comprehensive coal region “nostalgia” pages on Facebook. As long as Facebook exists – COAL REGION CONNECTIONS will be a legacy page & will be here for future generations to see! We’d love your feedback below both as a reader, or potential advertiser. IN CLOSING… This has been our longest post ever & we hope you derived some value out of it.
