RESERVE DEPUTY TRAINING The Laurens County Sheriffs Office is now taking applications for the Reserve Deputy Program through March 21, 2014. There will be six slots available. A reserve officer candidate must successfully complete the South Carolina Reserve Officer Training Program to include 163 training hours plus and end of course written examination administered by the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy. Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED. Candidates must: *Pass a SLED background check with NO felony convictions or disqualifying misdemeanors and a credit check. *Hold a valid/current South Carolina drivers license with a satisfactory drivers history. *Must be able to serve a minimum of 20 hours per month (60 hours per quarter). *Must be able to maintain all required annual training. Applications can be printed online at laurenssheriff or picked up during regular business hours at the Sheriffs Office.
