RETIRED ST. JOES TEACHER GARY CLARKE ENTERS ALDERMANIC RACE . . . Gary Clarke, former chair of the St. Thomas Public Utilities Commission has filed his papers for Oct. 27 municipal vote. Clarke, a retired teacher, principal and superintendent was elected twice in the mid 80s to the Public Utilities Commission . He currently sits as a Director of the St. Thomas Energy Board. Born and raised in the city he has been active in many community groups over the years, St. Annes Community Festival Board, St. Thomas Sports Spectacular, 2004-2006 United Way Cabinet, Elgin Association of Community Living, Special Olympics Basketball Coach, Knights of Columbus, Optimist Club and St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital Foundation Ad Hoc Committee for Chair Affair and CASO Royale fundraisers.
