REUNITED! Well, its wild to be saying this but Elmo who was lost - TopicsExpress

REUNITED! Well, its wild to be saying this but Elmo who was lost six months ago today has been found! He was lost in Madison and was found in East Nashville! Shelia Lee Ann Alexander and her family picked him up tonight! :) He was only around ten months old then and now is a strapping older pup. I wish that he could tell us his story but for now, as long as we know that it has a happy ending, then thats enough! Many of us remember Shelia telling us about how she would follow leads on Elmo, only to return without the dog being him - and how her little boy cried at the loss of him. I bet hes too excited to sleep tonight! :) Everyone who is looking for a lost pet, do NOT give up hope. Do NOT stop searching. I know that youre tired and sad and downtrodden and sometimes it feels hopeless. Sadly, not all make it home but many DO - and sometimes due to crazy odds and just when the owners think that they never, ever will. Elmo was set to be dropped off at MACC tomorrow where more than likely he would never have been reunited with his family. The finder refused to place Craigslist ads or hang any signs. When community members rallied for this dog, the miraculous happened. Thanks to Connie Anderson for rushing and taking him from the finder and promising to keep him safe and Libby Baughman Doubler for posting his found info here for Shelia to see, he is now home. And for Shala Dvorak for texting me today and alerting me to all of the hubbub about the found dog on his way to the shelter. And to Sara Perry and Sydney Smith Stopka for laying it on the line like true animal lovers and telling folks how it is that one should behave when a pet is found. People cared about this unknown dog and it MATTERED. Fate lined up perfectly today. Here is Elmos photo as a pup when lost and second, youll see him today. :) For those of you who are still searching, never give up the search and never stop believing in miracles. For those of you who see that lost pet by the roadside, stop and help. You never know where it will lead!
