REVIVING THE ASABA TEXTILE MILE The Asaba Textile Mills Plc, - TopicsExpress

REVIVING THE ASABA TEXTILE MILE The Asaba Textile Mills Plc, manufactures and markets textiles. The company is based in Asaba, Nigeria. The Asaba textile industry or apparel industry was primarily concerned with the production of yarn, cloth and the subsequent design and manufacturing of clothing. And was very effective for distribution of it produce, with raw materials which were natural and synthetic, using products of the chemical industry. But today there is nothing to write home about Asaba Textile Mills. It does not have any Key Executives recorded. The Asaba Textile Mill used to be the third largest textile producer in Nigeria with over 5,000 employees. It was one of the state major revenue source. This sector was established to create job for the Delta North Senatorial district, to elevate poverty of the Ndokwa, Anioma and Ika people. The The Asaba Textile Mill was a major distributor and exporter of fibre materials with a shinning glory. But today the Asaba Textile Mill is out of operations., Thousands of jobs were lost due to complete negligence from the People Democratic Party (PDP) led Government of both Chief James Onanefe Ibori and Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan. The National Union of Textile, Garment and Tailoring Workers of Nigeria, NUTGTWN, severally called on the Delta State Government to revive Asaba Textile Mill, lamenting that the mill used to be the third largest textile producer in Nigeria with over 5,000 employees. No attention was paid to this sector causing it collapse. Their cries were not heard by the People Democratic Party (PDP) led Government who is only interested in loathing state fund and privatization of state properties. The People Democratic Party (PDP) led Government in Delta State is a failure. They have failed the people of Delta State, causing poverty, lack of jobs, with a gross economic mis-management. With all the Revenue allocation being received by the state, the People Democratic Party (PDP) led Government should have been more than enough, rekindle all our failing companies which provide jobs for Deltans, for these state owned companies to be operating in full capacity, in order to compete with International market; thereby creating more jobs. The Umbrella they say can only cover one person when it rains. The People Democratic Party (PDP) led Government has only been interested in its own interest and not interest of the state. The Labour Party (LP) shall work together for the good of all Deltans, as a family to re-structure and revive the The Asaba Textile Mill. As soon as we are voted into power, we shall invest more to expand the building structure and its production capacity to create over 10,000 jobs for the Delta North Senatorial district by reviving the Asaba Mill Plc. And also creating an enabling working and business environment. We shall also bring in lots of foreign investors to invest largely into the Textile industry, thereby elevating the Delta textile to be Nigeria best and number one textile Industry. It shall compete with International Textiles industries. It will create resources for distribution and export of Textile to other parts of Nigeria, West Africa, Sub Sahel regions and other countries. Delta State shall be made a home of business opportunities. Both our young and old shall have good jobs under the Labour Party led government. We shall no more struggle for good jobs. We (Delta State) Shall be employers of Labour with good working condition to protect the interest of workers and business investors. Our sons and daughters shall no more lack good jobs after graduation from schools. Vote wisely today for the Labour Party. The Labour Party is a party of Job Creation, good governance representative, Youth empowerment, social and cultural integration. Let us all stand as one, to vote and protect our vote. Your vote is your right. It is the good future of Delta State. Together we shall stop electoral rigging and move our state forward. Vote Great Ovedje Ogboru for Governor Delta State.
