RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL: LIVING IN THE NAME OF JESUS! SATURDAY-;30TH-;NOVEMBER-;2013 WITH*PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME* For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.(Acts 17:28) The Bible says, And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him (Colossians 3:17). Thats the way to live a supernatural life. True Christianity is functioning in the Name of Jesus. That means youre living for Him in His authority. How could you be defeated if you live for Him? Thatll be impossible; and so will failure and poverty. Some people believe rightly the Name of Jesus is powerful and has all authority, but they dont know how to function in that Name on a day-to-day basis. The Lord Jesus taught us how in John 14:12-13, where He said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. Here, the Lord was teaching us to make demands in His Name. Peter understood this, and he commanded a man who had never walked from birth to rise up and walk in the Name of Jesus (Acts 3:1-6). The Bible says, And he (the lame man) leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God (Acts 3:8). Were called to live in the Name of Jesus, the creator of the universe. Thats big, and nothing can compare with it. If you function in His Name, and discover theres a tumour in your body, say, Tumour, in the Name of Jesus, you cant stay in this body, I command you to go! and itll go. If theres a problem with your heart, say, Heart, I command you to function normally in the Name of Jesus! If your child isnt growing right, lay your hands on him or her, and say, Child, grow right in the Name of Jesus, and be excellent! If you had trouble at work, lift your hands in the presence of the Lord and say, I command the storms in my office to calm down in the Name of Jesus! And it will be so. Make your life beautiful, and live triumphantly every day, by living in the Name of Jesus. PRAYER: Dear Father, I thank you for giving me the Name of Jesus, to use and to live by. I live in, and by, the power of that Name today; and I declare, that Im making progress with giant strides as I fulfill the ministry and destiny that youve given me, in Jesus Name. Amen. FURTHER STUDY: Acts 4:12(KJV) 12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (CEV) 12 Only Jesus has the power to save! His name is the only one in all the world that can save anyone. (GWT) 12 No one else can save us. Indeed, we can be saved only by the power of the one named Jesus and not by any other person.” (GNT) 12 Salvation is to be found through him alone; in all the world there is no one else whom God has given who can save us.” (AMP) 12 And there is salvation in and through no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by and in which we must be saved. Colossians 3:17(KJV) 17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. (CEV) 17 Whatever you say or do should be done in the name of the Lord Jesus, as you give thanks to God the Father because of him. (GWT) 17 Everything you say or do should be done in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. (GNT) 17 Everything you do or say, then, should be done in the name of the Lord Jesus, as you give thanks through him to God the Father. (AMP) 17 And whatever you do [no matter what it is] in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus and in [dependence upon] His Person, giving praise to God the Father through Him
