RHAPSODY OF REALITIES TeeVo(for teens) By Pastor Anita Oyakhilome. Date: Thursday, October 24th, 2013. Topic: THE I-CAN-DO MENTALITY (Dont Give Up; Dont Give In!) It makes no difference how daunting a challenge may appear before you; youre up to the task. See the possibility of coming out victoriously. TO THE BIBLE --- NUMBERS 14:7-9 TLB ...It is a wonderful country ahead, and the Lord loves us. He will bring us safely into the land and give it to us ...do not fear the people of the land. For they are but bread for us to it LETS TALK When Moses sent twelve men into Canaan to spy out the land, ten of them came back with a despairing feedback. They talked about how difficult and impossible it would be for them to invade Canaan and take over the land. They were so negative in their report that the assembly of the children of Israel became utterly hopeless and demoralised (Numbers 13:31-14:1). God was displeased with them because they failed to use His Word as the basis for their perception. However, the other two men-Joshua and Caleb-had a different view of the situation. They saw the possibility of conquering Canaan and taking possession of the land as God had spoken. They said to the congregation, ...Dont be afraid of those people. Why, well have them for lunch! They have no protection and God is on our side. Dont be afraid of them! (Numbers 14:9 MSG). Forty years later, these two men were among the young generation of Israelites who entered the promised land, while those ten and other unbelieving folks like them died in the wilderness (Numbers 14:26-38). It matters how you perceive challenges and respond when faced with daunting situations. You must train yourself to have the I-can-do mentality. No matter how difficult the assignment before you is, let Gods Word build your faith and inspire you; become possibility-conscious. Like Apostle Paul, say to yourself, I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me (Philippians 4:13). Make this your everyday confession, and youll be amazed how things will begin to work in your favour. Go Deeper: 2 Corinthians 3:5, Philippians 4:13 RELATE: Prayer Dear heavenly Father, thank you for your Word that works mightily in me, giving me the mindset of a victor. I refuse to be moved by what I see or feel; rather, Im inspired by the Word of God to live by faith. My life, therefore, is an unending stream of the miraculous, in Jesus Name. Amen. Act Make bold declarations of faith about your family, health, finances, academics, and future.
