RIVERS VOICE:Last weekend, Saturday, october 26th to be precise, Gov Amaechi & his friends & allies had cause to celebrate, though majority Rivers Voice became aware of it through the airwaves. The hullabaloo was in commemoration of Gov Amaechi Nebuchadnezzars six years in office by his own reckoning. His allies called it ceremonious, but to those who do not share same sentiment with him, it was nothing short of cerebropolitical. But the crux of the matter is the insight the october remembrance tends to create into the controversial Supreme Court ruling of 2007 that ousted the then Gov. Omehia paved way for Amaechi. It should be noted that the Supreme court Judgement, parts of which were clad in ambiguity has been subject of arguments even among the Senior Advocates of the law profession. It is also part of the puzzle expected to be decoded in the bid to resolve the intractable legal tussle between Governor Amaechi & Chief Cyprian Chukwu on one hand & Omehia on the other hand, presently before the apex court for ruling Nov. 11, 2013. Amaechi & Omehia are saying the prayer, Nullification cos Rivers state was among the state listed by INEC to be conducted election september 2011.. Question: What will happen to Amaechi after nullification? Amaechi risk prison. Appreciation & understanding the delay tactics, the Supreme Court in its Thursday, October 3 ruling consolidated both Chief Chukwus & Gov Amaechis arguments as one Vs Omehia. It also decided to give the case expeditious hearing, fixing the next sitting for November 11th, 2013. Victory to Omehia is assured.
