See pic 1 & remember that muscle burns blood sugar and fats (calories). So if muscle goes bye-bye, blood sugar, lipids (including bolds fats/triglycerides) DONT! And you know what happens when sugar and lipids go up!....and therefore you may go down way too early! (Can you say #Fitbit ?) Also, according to our first speaker (and MSU Spartan Dr Michael Andary) it takes 2 days of Olympian Training to get muscle strength fully back from ONE day of bed rest.
