RMSI President 2013-204 Message #2 June 20 2013 Dear Colleagues, In the rush of sending first message out I have forgotten to mention a couple important things: First of all, on behave of our RMSIG I would like to thank Pavel Bondrenko for his service as a president in 2012-2013. Pavel was the first RMSIG President ever elected, and was elected again and again multiple times. Pavels organizational skills, his humor and dedication to our cause (having fun while enjoying communication with colleagues at ASMS and beyond) is greatly appreciated. Thank you Pasha! Also I would like to express a gratitude to our maestros: Alexander Lasarev and Dmitry Koluntaev. While Alex is the veteran of the ASMS scene and well known for his virtuosity at the piano; Dmitry was a rooky at our festivities, but ... oh my god... what a talent ! Alexis and Dmitry jazz improvisation duet was a true highlight of the Wednesday night . I have a short video of that taken, and Viatcheslav Kovtun has also sent me a clip - it will be sent shortly to Igor Chernushevich to post on his ASMS PICASA page (https://picasaweb.google/RussianMS/ASMS2013?authuser=0&feat=directlink ). I see a bright future of Russian mass spectrometry with such youth and anticipate lots of fun in Baltimore! I also would like to thank our water polo team (see the pictures on Igors page) for keep our tradition alive in the severe Minnesota climate. On another topic: I want to apologize for misspelling name of one of the new members - correct spelling is Oleg Boyarkine. Skolkovo: It seems that at our annual meeting there were some questions to Prof. Nikolaev regarding Skolkovo activities. Prof. Nikolaev has kindly forwarded some info on Skolkovo (attached) as well as the questionary below.
