ROAD CLOSED REMINDER Starting Monday, May 12, a water main replacement project in Saginaw Charter Township will close a portion of Hemmeter Road during construction. The project, awarded to contractor Wellman Excavating, will close the road during construction from Jameson south to Brockway. Hemmeter Road will have local traffic only access from State Street South to just North of Jameson in order to provide service to the school and the Wendy’s parking lot. The length of the project should be no more than four weeks to actually place the pipe in the ground. Testing, services, road and drive repairs, and final landscaping will then follow. A full detour, using Brockway, Center and State Street as the alternate route, will be posted. All permits have been obtained from both the Saginaw County Road Commission and the Michigan Department of Transportation.
