ROAD TRAGEDY: The NTs first road death for 2014 is a 37-year-old man who has died after he was injured in a crash on Friday, January 10. Acting Senior Sergeant Mark Casey from the Major Crash Investigation Section said the man was a passenger in the car at the time of the crash. “A white Daewoo Leganza sedan has side-swiped a Triton utility near the traffic lights on the corner of Trower and Rapid Creek Roads. The man, who was sitting behind the driver, was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital. “Tragically, the man has passed away. Acting Sen-Sgt Casey said investigations into the crash would continue and asked anyone with information to contact Police on 131 444 or call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. The death is the first on Northern Territory roads for 2014. At the same time last year the road toll was two.
