ROCHAS OKOROCHA IS BIGGER THAN YOU THINK. Firstly, I commend my amiable governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha for contesting for the presidential ticket under APC. The delegates chose their candidate with regional bias and sentiments, yet you showed the stuff you were made of and slugged it out till the end. You lost the primaries, but did not lose your mind and in the spirit of unity and oneness which is one of the cardinal prerequisites of a good party man, you accepted the defeat in good faith, I applaud you, sir. It beats my imagination as to how some paid antagonists and disjointed bye-products of the Internet made and still make mockery of Owelles presidential candidature, some said he is mad, some say he is a failure, others say he is an Aboki, (I am sure he hears all these insults) yet in the spirit of speech freedom as enshrined in democracy, he stomachs all these with his head still help up even higher. The social and print media has been inundated with crass and ignorant posts and pieces from utterly biased persons whose political agenda is based on a template “pull Rochas down. They only cook up bad, defaming and grossly false items just to see that their evilish propaganda is oiled consistently. The PDP recently had their primaries where it was very evident that hundreds of millions of Naira were individually expended on the delegates, no one saw these as waste, some even had to mortgage and sale their landed properties just for the political adventure. Most of them lost out. Why then do people turn around to abuse Owelle Rochas for spending to oil his political machinery? His goodwill alone as a governor and also as a renown philantropist is an open cheque to financial resources from friends and supporters alike. Love him or hate him, Owelle is a politician that stands out from the crowd, he thinks out of the box, when he left APGA in his political heyday, he was lyrically abused and rewarded with harsh words, called names and branded an Hausa man, yet in his charismatic manner, he bore his cross with a high level of maturity. Now the two APGA heavyweights that chided him back then, Peter Obi and Martin Agbaso, have both both left APGA when the party needed them most. I bet you, if Owelle Rochas has been a PDP governor, they would have been singing his praises to high heavens, just as Jonathan is being celebrated even in his rudderless, jaundiced and abysmal leadership. The PDP in Imo state is now engulfed in an imbroglio, occasioned by their recently held gubernatorial primaries, this has really exposed them as different bedfellows whose pseudo-unity is just a smokescreen. Ihedioha won an election adjudged as the freest and fairest primary election of the PDP in the state, yet his rivals are yet to come to terms with reality. Now their internet goons, without any visible means of livelihood, are busy exposing their ignorant dispositions. It is very wrong to run your mouth any how or run people down on the Internet and pages of newspaper simply because you were induced to do so, without facts backing up your claims. I weep when I see young lads, the supposed leaders of tomorrow, behaving like motor park touts online, making senseless posts and filling their facebook walls with malicious pieces that are slanderous by all indications. Thank God for Owelle Rochas, who has been very accommodating and unbothered with such nuisance, if it was Ohakim, some of you would have had the taste of the whip and possibly some other harsher punishment. Love him or hate him, Owelle Rochas is one Igbo man who is a step ahead of his contemporaries, he always thinks of the future, strengthening his belief with the weakness of the past. He has his flaws, he has his weaknesses, he has his shortcomings, but those are natural with all humans, but in all, one could still see and feel his positive pulse. This man feels so happy and comfortable being with the common men, he loves to put smiles on peoples faces, he loves the downtrodden and fights for them with all in his power. For daring to be different, Owelle has been called names of various nomenclature, cajoled and deprived of a lot of benefit by the center, yet he forged ahead and remained resilient in his pursuit of fairness, equity and better life for the grassroots. My able Governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha, I welcome you back to Imo state. Nno, nwa diala.
