ROCK THE HAGE was a musical festival held here at the Golf Club in Uitenhage over the last two nights. It was like our own little Woodstock! It featured musicians from Uitenhage, past and present, who all reunited to give us an extravaganza of sound never before experienced in our Garden Town! Artists from all over South Africa, as well as from as far afield as Australia, Britain and Cameroon, flew in to delight us with their incredible talent, and to transport us back in time. Hundreds upon hundreds of music enthusiasts thronged together in a collective spirit of nostalgia. It was so wonderful to reconnect with old friends, and meet new people - I even met some of my Facebook friends in person for the first time - but something even more heartwarming than the powerful fellowship experienced, was the knowledge that the whole festival had been organised to raise money for our local S.P.C.A., which has been floundering financially for years...
