ROXY UPDATE!!! Here is directly from Amanda, Roxys foster mom: She is doing much better day by day. The Tylan is really helping tremendously with the diarrhea. She occasionally has a little, however that, mixed with kibble, puppy food, rice and some cooked ground chicken or beef, plus the occasional boiled egg is working wonders. She is gobbling up the food (no wonder!). She is putting on a little weight but not much, as I guess the puppies are taking the majority. With regard to getting her back to Chris soon, I believe this is definitely the best route for her and Chris. I have grown to love her deeply however she has bonded with me very quickly and is literally following me everywhere, to the bathroom, sitting outside the shower, beside the sink while I was dishes, cook etc. It would be so good for her to be back in her true home sooner rather than later. I will miss her loads, but she needs to be with her Daddy! I know Chris and Laurie miss her and I will miss her too. Her mange is still there, however the vet thinks it is mostly stress related and with some light meds, it will likely resolve itself not long after she is home. She also needs bathing and some ointment applying but I dont want to do that just yet to take away the smell of her to the puppies. Will take care of that next week. I will get her to the vet at the end of this week to check her out again and work on getting her up-to-date on her vaccinations before she returns to Chris. With regard to weaning, I believe Roxy is just starting to initiate this herself. Her rear nipples are getting pretty torn up and red with the sharp little claws and new teeth coming in. When shes had enough she shakes them off and gets the heck out of there! Ive bathed them with cold cloths which she likes but will check in with the vet this week. Puppies are doing very well I think. They are all gaining weight and although the girls were heavier, the boys are now surpassing them both in weight and climbing ability. Time for some higher walls:) They are all adorable. All eyes have opened to a beautiful blue in the last couple of days, some are hearing better than others and most are trying to sit for a short time and walking wobbly. Cracks us up! They are ravenous though, despite sleeping for most of the day and night, so they will totally appreciate the extra food when we start to wean and it will likely be a horror of a mess, but they will grow immensely I think. So weaning will start this weekend! We are still asking for puppy pads and evaporated milk! Even if u buy only a few cans or a small pack of puppy pads - it ALL adds up!!! Since Im an idiot and couldnt get the Amazon wish list to work - donations can be mailed to Amanda at 69 Meadowcroft Lane, Lincoln University PA 19352. U guys all have been AMAZING!!! Because of all the very generous donations, Roxy and her family are going to thrive!!! Roxy will be brought current on vaccines (the vet was concerned her immune system couldnt handle the vaccines right now) and will be spayed and microchipped when she returns to Chris. If u care to donate even $5 to her chipin fund, u can do so at gofundme/c2pvgg THANK YOU EVERYONE!! Now...some pics!!
