ROY LEBLANC WOWS THEM IN BLUE SUEDE SHOES . . . Roy LeBlanc has taken his Elvis Presley act from Graceland to the Grand. The London-born - and former St. Thomas resident - “world champion” Elvis tribute artist has sung at Graceland, Presley’s former Memphis estate and a shrine to fans of The King. LeBlanc opens as Presley in his hometown Friday on the Grand Theatre’s mainstage as the star of Blue Suede Shoes: The King, The Colonel, The Memories. “The beauty of Elvis is nobody on stage knew what Elvis was going to do — not even his own band,” LeBlanc, now of St. Catharines, said Tuesday of the late U.S. rock and roll star. “The real challenge of this (show) was to make it not just for the Elvis fans but for anybody and everybody,” LeBlanc said.
