RR Live Daily Progress Tip: Many of us found it annoying when our mothers reminded us about good posture, telling us to stand up straight and pull our shoulders back at the dinner table, but mom was right. Good posture is important to help protect our back and joints. However in the modern world we spend so much time sitting hunched over driving cars, working at computers, looking at our phones and other electronic devices that poor posture has become an epidemic. The good news is good posture is easy to achieve instead of sitting hunched over sit or stand up nice and tall, feet firmly planted, draw your abs towards you spine, suck it in, pull your shoulders down and back, look straight ahead and not down and you will have good posture. To make it easier to maintain good posture keep doing exercises to strengthen the muscles in your core these include everything from your knees to your rib cage, front, back, side and within. Below is a video of me standing with good posture; the exercise I am doing in the video is a simple one that can be done with resistance bands to help strengthen the core. Keep strengthening your core and standing tall and you will not only protect your back and joints but will stand tall and confident in the world, good posture is about confidence and conciseness as well as health.
