RSG APPROVES N1BILLION FOR BURSARY & SCHOLARSHIP The Chairman of the State Scholarship Board, Mr. Benjamin Orugbani has announced the approval of one billion naira for the payment of bursary and overseas scholarship to indigenous students of the State. The Chairman who was represented by the Secretary of the State Scholarship Board, Sir Sam Deekue, made this known during a press briefing in his office recently. Mr. Orugbani disclosed that the payment exercise would commence on Monday, November 10 to Friday December 12, 2014 at the various designated centres. According to him, the payment will cover about 35,000 undergraduate and post graduate students in both 2011/2012 and 2012/2013 academic session respectively. He added that qualified candidates should come along with their jamb/school admission letter, school identification card, local government identification letter, revalidation of Bank Account details and student’s mobile phone number for re-verification. In his vote of thanks, the Secretary of the bursary committee, Barr. Ibiene Cotton Amachree lauded the Governor Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for his commitment to education despite the shortfall in allocation to the State.
