RUNNING! Do you love it, hate it, or in between? I have always more or less hated it. But recently I have found it to be more of a moving meditation. Most days when I run (and I run only 2-3 times a week) I listen to personal development speakers on audible or podcasts. (WHAT?!) Sounds like torture to a few of you I bet, right?! For me, its been a nice escape to clear my head of the junk and re-fuel it with the good stuff! Another thing that has helped me hate it less, has been taking off the pressure. I generally run outside just for a certain amount of time and DONT track my distance or anything like that. I consider it a success if I can go that amount of time without having to walk, or maybe if I throw in some hill sprints, or maybe, if I do a route Ive done before and it somehow takes me less time and I have to go further to fill the pre-determined amount of time! Making it work FOR ME rather than a race or competition with others has really helped me enjoy running, rather than hating it and beating myself up over not being good enough. Quite a pleasure to do an activity just because you love it or enjoy it, regardless of how good/fast you are! :-)
