RUTO AND SANG SHOULD BE ACQUITED BY ICC The 2007, 2008 post - TopicsExpress

RUTO AND SANG SHOULD BE ACQUITED BY ICC The 2007, 2008 post election violence indeed painted a very bad picture of our Eastern Africa beacon of hope country, Kenya. Before the violence Kenya was only known as investment hub and a home of peace among the Eastern Africa countries .Political competition between the then P.N.U past and ODM fore the country apart with two opposing sides claiming victory in the presidential race. This development of events saw communities that had lived together historically rise up in arms of all sorts to fight one another. What followed was the bloodshed of hundred of innocent Kenyans forced evictions and burning of settlements which left 600,000 people internally displaced and over 1500 died. The natural laws of justice then demanded investigation into this ugly violence, to establish its causes and bring planners, Financiers and Perpetrators to book. It’s in this mix of events that, Parliament appointed a commission of an inquiry chaired by Justice Philip Waki. This appointment marked a point at which, Kenya was started being beaten by rain. The Waki team did not conduct sufficient investigations to prove who perpetrators and financiers were. This team just like the Ocampo team which comes in later to collect and compile evidences conducted shoddy investigations. Heaven where God will only look at his palms and tell all the truth upon a person. The revelation by the former ICC prosecutor Moreno Ocampo of Argentina that he was “pressured by western diplomats” to fix Ruto and Uhuru is in itself an announcement from the rooftop that Ruto Uhuru and Sang should be acquitted. All and sandry will concur that the crimes against humanity were committed but it will be erroneous and malicious to align in court suspects when the prosecution does not have evidence. The case started dwindling when one by one, witnesses started giving, testimonies that they were coached and promised monetary gain to fix the suspects. Its only right now that the prosecution conducts evidence collection through investigating or so that victims and the accused can know the truth. Kenyans indeed want the truth on this matter
