RVHS Competes to Win One of Two $10,000 McDonald’s Activity Grants in Second Annual "Chris Spielman High School Team Challenge" In hopes of reducing fees associated with school athletic programs, River Valley is competing in the second annual Chris Spielman High School Team Challenge, an online bracket-style competition that invites high schools across Central Ohio to compete for one of two $10,000 McDonald’s Activity Grants to relieve financial burdens felt by school families by reducing "pay to play" and other fees associated with school athletic programs. The contest, now in its second year, is open to all high schools in Central Ohio, and will be based on votes from students, family, friends and community members. Supporters can cast their vote for River Valley at highschoolteamchallenge. Schools are grouped into two brackets based on the Ohio High School Athletic Association’s (OHSAA) divisional breakdown, with Divisions I-III in one bracket and Divisions IV-VII in the other. Voting will consist of three rounds – round one (three weeks), round two (two weeks) and the final round (one week). The school in each bracket that has the most votes at the end of the contest will win a $10,000 McDonald’s activity grant. The contest is open and runs through November 1. River Valley is a Division IV school and will be competing in Divisions IV-VII bracket. As one of the bigger schools in those divisions please take time to vote.
