RW Feb 2014 reported that Jim Simpson, a 72 year old retire from CA became the first American to ruin 1000 Marathon finishes in Jan 2013. Hes logged another 149 thru Nov! I accidentally met and talked to him at the Atlantic City Marathon that I ran with my two oldest daughters - Anita Harris and Shannon Kelley (2005-6?). His tally was in the 400s back then I vaguely recall. He and a running friend were greeting runners after the race outside his camper parked near the finish line. They ran the Marine Corp Marathon the day before! Memories. .. And a reminder of what the human body can achieve. Cant wait for retirement ;-).
