Race 2 Report =========== Im not too sure what happened at the start. I think I reacted okay, but then it all went wrong for a lap or two as I steadily dropped to near the back. Then there were four cars alongside each other approaching the first corner, and I manage to get the run on all of them, getting a nose ahead into the turn and being in the middle by the exit. It was all very close, but we each showed respect. If I had pushed a little harder I may have exited ahead of them all, but then maybe I would have exited into the gravel; as I say, we all showed respect. What followed was a race-long battle with these guys, each trading places from leading to trailing the group. Marc Noaro was the first to drop out; after yesterdays stub axle failure, today his wheel bearing failed. Then the Supers appeared and caused mayhem for us (although Im guessing we also caused it for them - it was that crazy). Pete Cannard and Robin Webb came worst off in the lappings and dropped away, leaving me, Mark Carter and new-boy Steve McMasters. Me and Steve were constantly swapping position, with Mark getting ahead with two or so laps remaining. For the final lap I tried slip-streaming Mark towards the final chicane, but I was not quick enough, so tried to pressure him into a mistake on the entry. Instead I locked up and so turned in late, allowing Steve to pounce. This was one of a few minor mistakes that I made, being a little more ragged that in Race 1, so I suppose its a good thing that my RaceKeeper wasnt working. It was good fun and the most manic race Ive ever had, it being non-stop for the full duration. The event was televised on Motors TV. I had said I didnt want to make an appearance as thatd mean Id cocked up somewhere. Well, it seems they got that last corner move; told you!
