Race 6 saw the sprinters battle it out over 1000m in the Birdcage Handicap. It was an emphatic win by Antarctic Missile, trained by Kathryn Durden and ridden by Ben Melham, beating home Street Allure and Wild Rain with three lengths to spare. In Race 5 earlier, Darren Weir and Brad Rawiller combined to give Taiyoo a convincing win in the Piping Lane Handicap over 2000m, with Extra Zero and Crafty Cruiser in second and third respectively.
