Rachit Mundhra, Shubham Sogani, Pranjali Dudhe, requested/challenged me to this epic Book Bucket Challenge. This should be done every once in a while! So listing the books that have impacted me the most, in no particular order (or maybe there is one) : 1. The Fantastic Mr. Fox by Roald Dahl. One of the most engrossing books of my childhood. Also, Matilda (how I wish! :D) , James and the Giant Peach, and Georges Marvellous Medicine, all by the same author, for making me believe anything was possible. (This guy was a fighter pilot AND a fantasy writer. Everything I wanted to be!) 2. The Harry Potter series. And fan-fic. 3. The Lord of the Rings trilogy - JRR Tolkien definitely had a severe OCD. 4. Inheritance cycle - Always wanted to fly. And breathe fire. (Eragon/Eldest/Brisingr/Inheritance) 5. The Gameworld series - this is a fantasy series by an Indian author, Samit Basu. A masterpiece combining elements of Indian mythology with the western into an extremely detailed and disturbing world. Borrowed the first two from a friend, was never able to find the third. Kisi ke paas ho to de do! (Unwaba revelations) 6. Andromeda Strain/Prey/The Lost World - some really engrossing science fiction, by Michael Crichton. 7. Silver Tower by Dale Brown - the first book I picked up at a flea market. A truly epic climax! 8. Kane and Abel - Jeffrey Archer. 9. The Foundation series - Asimov. Genius. Also, The Gods Themselves and Nightfall. 10. The Dune series - this makes me want to build a religion from the ground up. Perhaps I will some day. And lead humanity on to the Golden Path. 11. Bartimaeous trilogy (Stroud) /The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy () /Jeeves (Wodehouse) - these three series have perhaps had the most influence on my writing. Though each of them deserves more than a separate point, I am clubbing then together.
