Rajya Sabha MP and Samajwadi Party general secretary Mohan Singh on Sunday passed away after illness. The Vice President of India M. Hamid Ansari has condoled the passing away of Singh, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), and General Secretary of the Samajwadi Party. “I am profoundly saddened at the passing away of Singh, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), and General Secretary of the Samajwadi Party, earlier today. Singh had a long and distinguished career in public life during which he served, with distinction, as Member of Parliament, in Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha; and Member of Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council in his home state of Uttar Pradesh. A committed socialist, he was an outstanding Parliamentarian and a popular leader who was deeply attached to the issues of interest and concern to the common people. “I convey my heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved family. I pray to the Almighty to give them strength and fortitude to bear this loss,” Ansari said.
