Rallying and being efficient without breaking the bank by Freddy and Yachine Freddy Rakotomanga and Yachine Adam are the 2014 Madagascar RallyChampionship in the newlycreated T2 Category, for Off road cars. They took part in the 2011 African Rally Championship in a Subaru Impreza N8 (RC Motorsports). According to Freddy, rallying in an off road car has many advantages. They took part at the African Rally Championship 2011. They share their experiences and persepctives. Their philosophy the maximum of performance and pleasure with affordable investments We started from an Isuzu D Max 2013, 85KW (4JK1-TC) standard base.We just fit a locally built soldering roll-cage according to FIA annex J with security accessories: seats, seatbelts,… 3way racing suspension C2P and special engine management from JMAuto France. In 5 Rallies, we finish two times 4th overall, 5th in the Championship and 1st T2 ahead the Great Wall Wingle the other car in the T2 category Costs were very low: we use standard diesel, standard off-road tyres from Hankook, all part are standard from Isuzu. We just replaced one clutch kit and front break pads after 4 rallies. I also lost 2 rims. That’s all. We plan to bring Ford and Nissan into the Madagascar Championship in 2015. Ford Dealer is very interested by this category. With this gap between the 3rd and 2nd, it’s possible to target the ARC top3 in a T2 car by participating in all rounds with the support of a brand. But with a 2wd as R3T R3D is easier. I had already sent a mailing to Peugeot and Renault in this direction but no reply since 2012. If someone knows a brand that offers an opportunity ... I am ready to up the challenge with Yachine. In Madagascar, I was driving a Volkswagen Polo Tdi, it was the first Polo diesel that has been rallying in Africa, full standard, except suspension and LSD. However, in my mind, it is not necessary to hire a high level 2wd car ... a real goupe N vehicle, reliable with very good suspension ,LSD and close ratio gear box was enough ...
