Ran into a young lady tonight at Walmart that was a freshman cadet when I was Battalion Commander of the LHS JROTC Wolverine Battalion (my senior year). It was one of those odd moments at first when you are looking through baby clothes and a lady stops to ask you a question and the questions begin with did you used to live in Oklahoma?, I hesitantly said yes and then she connected the dots back to JROTC. I apologized for not recognizing her and we talked for a little bit (had a nice conversation). It was also nice to hear someone excitedly/happily tell me I was the one that taught them all the moves for marching and stuff for JROTC, Im glad I was able to help at least one person during my time there :-)
