Random Texts - 4 – 9 October 2013 The best idea in my research in Calculus of Variations (Mathematics) has at least to generalize some other older idea, or has to be an entirely new one. Sometimes it is also valid if you find a simpler or more elegante proof to some known result. Otherwise, forget about it, you are not doing Mathematics, you are just learning more about the field. What about performance art? How do I apply this researching axioms in this new context? To start, we need to be aware of how do we define what means to generalize some older result, how do we understand what it means to have some entirely new idea, and finally what it means to find simpler or more elegante performances’ processes. I would say that there is no such thing as entirely new processes or performances; what may be new is the use of some new tools – like technological tools, for instance – or the confluence of different tools that were not yet joined.
