Random confession: Writing by hand was among my favorite pastimes as a child (which helps account for hundreds of pages of letters and journals I filled). The son of an engineer, I naturally preferred all capitals and was proud of my precise penmanship. As the Internet became the place to journal and message, however, I found fewer reasons to write by hand. When I did, my print was sloppy from neglect. Finally, ,missing the sensation of the pen gliding gracefully in lines and loops, I began looking for reasons to write by hand, if only to compose nonsense sentences. I even began using cursive (I needed a tutorial to recall certain letters, like capital G). My script has slowly improved and Ive acquired some more enjoyable pens like the one in the video below. Now there are few hobbies which give me as much satisfaction. Hand writing is an art unto itself. Heres a good example of someone having a good time writing.
