Random observation: In the movie The Fighting Sullivans - a movie about five brothers growing up together, then enlisting together, and serving together on a cruiser, being killed together in an attack in the south Paciific ... the Lieutenant Commander who comes to give the bad news to the mother, father, and widow is awful damn chipper. I mean ... its grins and grips until he sits down in the chair and says I have some bad news. Your sons are dead. Which ones? all five of them. Ermmmmmmmmmm ... the actual combat stuff is at the very end of the movie - so its not a war film. Theres a LOT of great hokey dialogue and its a non-ironic film.
