Random thoughts.... ... How sad that Louie Zamperini passed away just months before his life story movie opened & he would have gotten to be grand marshall of the Rose Parade. ... If you take an equine entry to the most prestigious parade, dont you think youd clean up their feet? ... You have about 14 months advance notice that you will be going to Pasadena. That should be more than enough time to commit a handful of songs to memory & negate the need for folios. ... Did anyone tell the band from Japan that they have to go about 5 & 1/2 miles on the street plus up to a mile in the pre-parade queue and as much as a mile in the post parade trek to the busses. Those crazy physical antics arent sustainable. .... Are the Marching Ducks embarrassed by their uniforms or lack there of? They should be... ... Battle Hymn.... at the Rose Parade... I might have cried if Al had ever shut up. ... Is it ironic that the only band the ding dongs on the broadcast channel often labeled liberal media wanted to listen to was the one playing marching versions of Christian hymns? ...Guess Kanye or Jay- Z or whoever cant completely do away w/ the Budweiser Clydesdales in all settings. Even better? One of the Scotts commented on how great their commercials are. ... Michelle M had a beautiful Saddlebred turnout ... No mention of the celebrity rider riding next to Michelle and no mention of roadster under saddle. Scripps always has the best equine entry. ... Wonders if my non-horse friends can name the celebrity wearing roadster silks & riding the beautiful spotted Saddlebred? ... OMG... HGTVs coverage is so much better. ....Way better band coverage on HGTV, but when talking about how hard it is for a band to get in to the Rose Parade during Round Rocks coverage, HGs commentators still didnt note that this bands grand national win gave them an automatic slot. .... So...A certain teen rolled outta bed after noon when I had not yet started watching my second parade & said ...I kid you not... You know what, I should have thought to record the parade. Her dad got a good laugh out of that... Like your mom didnt record multiple versions. ... Probably not right that my existing crush on the Scott twins is now bigger because they understand the importance of not talking too much. ....So much better watching w/ K.... who doesnt like tall plumes... who dislikes her bands uniform & wonders why does everyone else have good uniforms?... Also thinks it is ridiculous to march w/ music.... Who asked: OMG, are they marching in tennis shoes? (See... I told you Oregon should be embarrassed).... Who shudders at batons... Who feels sorry for the flutists playing in gloves without the fingertips cut out... OMG, look how good their lines are on the turn (honey, that would be why OTHS is one of the top 10 bands in IL) ... Every single band has better guard uniforms according to her ... I dont garden, but if I start, i promise to be exclusively loyal to Miracle Gro for making good parade coverage possible! .... Ugh ...now its downtime ... Its about 6 & 1/2 months til the summer marching seasons starts...
