Ranking the best pound-for-pound fighters of all-time is never - TopicsExpress

Ranking the best pound-for-pound fighters of all-time is never easy. Everyone has his own opinion when it comes to ranking “the sweet science of boxing.” To that end, we have omitted from the list Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao. The problem with Mayweather Jr. is that he simply hasn’t been tested quite enough to be considered one of the best pound-for-pound fighters of this generation. Pacquiao, on the other hand, has had some controversial decisions go his way, most notably against Juan Manuel Marquez. Not to mention that Pacquiao hasn’t been dominant enough in one division. These two exciting pugilists might one day make a top 10 list, but in a sport that has been tainted with bad decisions and top fighters avoiding each other to protect their record, it’s unlikely they will ever be considered among the best of all-time in their sport. - Jose Espinoza -
